It is our experience that self-injurers often find it difficult to find therapists who have experience in working with people who self-injure.,  In addition, many have told us that once a therapist learned that the client was self-injuring chose to refer them elsewhere.

We at the Self Injury Foundation know how difficult it can be to take that first step towards seeking help.  We want that step to be as successful as possible.  To that end, we have compiled a list of therapists who state that they understand self-injury and choose to work with clients who engage in these behaviors.  In addtion we have a list of support groups and treatment centers.  We hope that these lists will continue to grow as resources become more readily available for those who seek help

If you are a therapist who would like to be added to our list, please complete the therapist application form.
